The Spring Revel brings together Paris Review readers, supporters, and writers for an unforgettable evening of cocktails, dinner, conversation, and revelry. Proceeds from the Revel go directly toward The Paris Review Foundation, a non-profit organization established to ensure the future of The Paris Review. We also pay tribute to writers at different stages of their careers with the Hadada Award, The Plimpton Prize for Fiction, and The Terry Southern Prize for Humor.
This year we’re honoring Lydia Davis with the Hadada, our lifetime achievement award. Davis’s history with the Review begins in 1983, when we published her story “Break It Down” and continues into the current issue, which features a new story by Davis as well as two of her translations. New Yorker critic James Wood has written that The Collected Stories of Lydia Davis is “one of the great, strange American literary contributions.” She is the author of one novel, The End of the Story, and six story collections. Her translations from the French include new versions of Swann’s Way and Madame Bovary.
If you can’t join us on April 5, please make a contribution, and your gift will help us realize our plans for 2016. Your support has never been more appreciated.
